The Social Network

Another true story. It’s the Oscar winning story of Facebook. “The Social Network” is a fantastic film, written by Aaron Sorkin (creator and writer of my favourite TV show ever, “The West Wing”). It tells the story by juggling two different lawsuits, which Sorkin and director David Fincher do a wonderful job of pulling together.

It plays fast and loose with the truth. In reality Zuckerberg had a girlfriend the whole time. But Sorkin uses his awkwardness as a point of entry. It’s been rated roughly 75% true. It’s riveting – Fincher even makes people working on computers look dramatic. Esquire called it “Citizen Kane for the Internet age” and Quentin Tarantino thinks it’s the best film of the decade.
