The film that spawned a million protester masks. I haven’t posted a movie for a few days. Been distracted by the news. So what better movie to post than “V For Vendetta”, about a totalitarian government that comes to power after a terrible virus. And our hero, who fights back against the government, is labelled a terrorist.
Alan Moore’s comic is incredible, and this film adaptation does a good job of capturing its essence. It is possibly the best adaptation of any of his work. Written by the guys (now women) who made “The Matrix” and directed by their then assistant director James McTeigue, it’s absorbingly good – if you agree with its message – some might not.
Natalie Portman is great and Hugo Weaving does a fantastic physical acting job as a secretive man who never shows his face but eventually opens his heart.
